For the first time, the instrumentation workshop of Chymia Laboratorium SA opens its doors to the practitioners of alchemy and spagyria, as well as the natural pharmaceutics laboratories which productions are based on spagyric technology. We're specialized in the manufacturing of laboratory, chemical, scientific and custom built technical ceramic and refractory labware and glass apparatus.

An extensive range of glass components is held in stock including glass and teflon stopcocks, interchangeable ground joints, flanges, glass sinters, screwthread joints, graded and glass to metal/glass to ceramics seals, that we can use for manufacture your best tools.
We can also make crucibles and special shaped tools for more complex applications required in Alchemy and Spagyria, such as metallic calcinations, preparation of philosophical glasses, indian Basmas, volatilization of minerals, etc..All the materials used for the fabrication of these instruments are the result of years of research and application in the field of Spagyria and Alchemy, and meet your requirements at different application levels. The experienced staff in the workshop can provide expert advice and information regarding your special glassware, ceramic and refractory labware requirements. High vacuum systems can be constructed upon design, and for customers who may require high temperature or high purity glassware we can offer a service in quartz and high refractories.
We have two standard products, at the time. They are the classical Glauber's retorts, suitably constructed in two assembled parts for the better use, released in two different models: Medium Temperature Range and High Temperature Range.
The closed Glauber's retorts in refractory ceramics, for medium temperature range, are an excellent and indispensable tool for all alchemical and spagyric operations. The refractory nature of the compound, allows you to work safely at a maximum temperature of 800° Celsius, ensuring a good mechanical stability. With their precise ground flange, these retorts provide a superior working standard, being tested in direct flame till 1100° Celsius.
The outer enamel coating, which is especially conceived for this instruments, ensures total sealing of doug's residual porosity. This closed Glauber's retorts Are an excellent and indispensable tool for all alchemical and spagyric operations where the use of average temperatures and the presence of solids are required.
These instruments are vacuum guaranteed. The refractory mixture used to manufacture the retort, consists of a highly selected mixture of feldspar, kaolin, alumina and quartz released on compact composition. These different compounds are bound together with special nanoscale conceived ligands. This, with our special conceived coating, ensure a top performance both in pressure and in vacuum condition.
The closed Glauber's retorts in refractory ceramics, for HIGH temperature range, are actually under test and will be presented soon. This special apparatus is conceived for extreme working condition, in direct flame contact (continuous operations till 1300° Celsius). They will have an extreme resistance to thermal shock.
The neck is short, with a conical sharp architecture and convenient inclination. This allows a gauged condensing of the distillate, after a partial circulation and pre-condensation of phlegm in helmet, for the best and cleaner separation of spirits, as well as both etheric and heavy oils. Furthermore, the oval shrinkage at the end portion of the beak, allows a slowdown of residual uncondensed vapors for a total condensation of final product. This is particularly advantageous in the distillation of metalloids, sulphides and various strong bases mixes.
The instrument can also be used for metallic and mineral vitrifications, dry high temperature circulations, metallic cementations in the presence of vacuum, neutral atmosphere (Argon and other rare or inert gases), oxidizing environment as blowing air or pure oxygen from the neck.
The retort has been conceived with convenient vacuum tight flanges and, on request, can be equipped with a clamp device. The lower vessel was designed with an asymmetric thickness on the outer surface, suitable for housing a particular clamp for fix the entire set-up to a robotic arm for operations of automatic opening. The retort can be entirely sealed with traditional lutes or special synthetic cement mixes or refractory silicones.
